Gianni Rodari

Gianni Rodari (Omegna, 1920-1980) Teacher, journalist and popularizer of the new pedagogy in Italy, he began writing for children in 1950 when the director of a newspaper commissioned him to prepare a Sunday supplement. He later published more than twenty books in which he masterfully combined humor, imagination and overflowing fantasy with a critical vision, not devoid of irony, of the current world. In 1970 he was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Prize for his entire work.
