He was in charge of the Itinerant Libraries of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation for 20 years. He traveled around Portugal in a Citroën van, enjoying the pleasure of reading in various corners of the country. A poet of joy of life and surreal humor, he dedicated the book A Rose in an Elephant’s Trunk to his daughter Gisela.
